Report on the U.S. Intelligence Community's Prewar Intelligence Assessments on Iraq
 
Released July 7, 2004,  our editorial called it a "521-page fig leaf."
 
 "It is true that the scathing, 521-page assessment of the performance of the CIA and the rest of the intelligence community pointed to a hefty list of disturbing misjudgments and conclusions about Iraqi intentions." ...  "And you'll probably recall, too, that the senators... put off considering the performance of the elected management until later, probably after the election."
