Poynter columnist Sree Sreenivasan offers some very helpful tips you can follow as a sender:

1) Be sure to sign your email with your first and last name. For business email complete your Groupwise signature - and then use it! Note: include your phone number.
2) Be sure to use cc (carbon copy) appropriately: to get several people into the loop at once.
3) Be sure to use informative subject lines: be as specific as possible.
