LexisNexis Reports Theft of Personal Data

Second major breach

Last month ChoicePoint announced that their database of aggregated personal records had been infiltrated by someone who posed as a legitimate user, but wasn't. Some 145,000 records were accessed.

Last week, LexisNexis advised that over 30,000 records on their newly acquired Accurint were fraudulently accessed by passwords misappropriated from legitimate customers.

Identity Theft will most likely affect our access to crucial identity-confirming information. Accessiblity to full DOBs and Social Security numbers may be affected.
