OPENOnline

Some of you receive an email containing OPENonline's Tip of the Week. Please ignore today's. It applies only to those doing employement screening backgrounds.

By selecting 13. Other (Non-FCRA) as your Permissible Purpose code when you log in, you bypass the new form discussed below and there will be no address requirement.

Not applicable to us.

Procedural Change - Employment Screenings Only

Beginning today, March 1, 2005, OPENonline is implementing a procedural
change designed to further protect consumers' rights and to improve our
compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This change will
only affect our customers that perform employment screenings.

When accessing some criminal records for employment purposes,
customers will be asked to input the address of the subject/applicant.
This address will be used to notify the subject/applicant when stored
public record information is conveyed in a consumer report used for
employment purposes.

As of today, our customers will notice the additional address field in
some criminal record searches. The search cannot proceed if this field
is not thoroughly completed.

Under FCRA regulations, a consumer (the subject/applicant) is permitted
to request a copy of their report. OPENonline is taking on the
responsibility of fulfilling these consumer requests with no charge to
the consumer or to our customers.

This new procedure will allow OPENonline to comply with FCRA regulations
designed to protect consumers' rights. All consumer reporting agencies,
such as OPENonline, are required by the FTC to comply with these
regulations by instituting similar processes. This new procedure will
also allow us to continue to provide our customers with a broad range of
instant reports. All accounts were mailed a notice of this change in
mid-February.
