Oldie but goodie!

Offered by CDC, NCHS provides statistics both in report formats and in downloadable data formats. They slice and dice vital statistics both at the national and at the state levels and are fairly current. They also provide a list of who to contact in each state in order to obtain records.

Also, check out the Oregon DHS Vital Statistics data. Extremely helpful is the hard-to-find preliminary "Year-to-Date" information.
